My copy of this book came in three parts, though I understand there is a copy that comes as one book. I enjoyed this book, though it left me craving cupcakes! Honestly, the hero and heroine of the novel should be together, you can tell this from the start. They have incredible chemistry and not only does he love her cupcakes, he loves her just the way she is. She's been through a bad breakup after a long-term relationship, where her boyfriend constantly verbally abused her and put her down. He did this not only for her desire to cook, but her curves, and her looks. When he comes back into her life after she opens her shop and starts dating again, he wants to get back together, warning her off her new man. This is, if anyone else is familiar with it, classic abusive behavior. Thanks, Ms. Charles for shining a light on that. While I was reading I was rooting for Ally all the way! She is a fighter, and we need more women to know that it's ok to fight back by leaving abusive situations and finding their HEA. I know I did! Now, where are the recipe for those cupcakes?

First half of the book was a 5, second half a 3. While I loved the characters Ally and Gabe, I felt that the book dragged on a bit too long and by the end of the book there was too much back and forth questioning their relationship and another obstacle popped up just as they resolved the current one. The chemistry between the two was amazing as Gabe saved Ally and her cat Codsworth as her new bakery catches on fire. Gabe’s desire was stoked by this fiercely independent working woman just as he is battling the biggest challenge of his life. Six month’s ago Ally’s life was torn apart as her fiancé leaves her because she’s facing the biggest disappointment of her short life. Can these two achieve their HEA as they learn to trust each other and their hearts’ desires?

All I can really say about this book is ugh. It was just too much for me. I did not get why she let this guy keep coming around or why she agreed to go out with her sleaze of an ex twice. I’m sorry but both guys really were jerks. Just never liked Gabe. Didn’t really connect with either of them. Too many unanswered things also….what was the beef between the two guys and what happened with her ex after the biker incident. Just wasn’t for me.

Ok, now I need a cupcake. LOL Colleen Charles is one heck of a story teller. I thought Gabe was pushy and stalkerish at first, but he won me in the end, just like he won Ally. The pregnant lady story at the end made me feel so sorry for the little person and how his life was going to be. Maybe there can be a book about him when he grows up some day.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review, but when I went to leave this review, the book was up for free, so I snatched it up so I can read it again later.

It had me hooked from the first page and I didn’t stop until I finished! It made for a very late night!
It was an emotional roller coaster ride filled with drama, twists and turns, vengeful ex’s and hot sexyness!
Allie and Gabe go through a lot just to be together! Family and ex’s try to get in their way!
Colleen has written another great romance! I’m going to read the next book in this series next!
